GOAL 2: IMPROVE STUDENT EXPERIENCE, ENGAGEMENT AND AFFORDABILITY

In order to increase engagement amongst AMS members, promote services to students and create better awareness about the society and its roles, the society and subsidiary organizations will have to be as frugal as possible. Thus, I would work with the VP Finance to set an AMS independent ticketing services platform that would lower ticketing prices by about 15% through either no or lowest ticket commission. This would allow approximately more than 10% of the society members to afford the tickets and thereby increase engagement in society activities.
I will recruit a team of volunteers supported by staff from the AMS President and VP Admin offices in collaboration with AMS Events department and the Student Life committee to increase promotion of the AMS Annual General Meeting. We would work hard to attain more than just quorum, and to ensure that the society engages more of its members through the AGM. This can be achieved by not only centering the AGM on discussions about the society’s future, but also discussing fun and engaging activities necessary for the student campus experience. The society communications department shall use its resources to ensure that every corner of our community is reached and receives messages from AMS through either social media platforms or email.
