As one of the largest student societies in Canada, I will ensure that the AMS leads in setting an example in sustainable and clean energy by engaging with other student unions within the city of Vancouver, the Province and in the country. Working together, not only would we take climate actions to divest, but also to promote fair practices and hold companies that invest in fossil fuels and don't follow ESG (Environment, social governance) to account. I will team up with the GSS President and executives and AMS VP External to reach out to other colleges and Universities students unions.

In the interest of greater accountability and advocacy, I will work and support relevant VP’s of the society such as VP Finance and Administration to better utilize students’ sustainability funding to better support society and university groups that set great examples in engaging the campus community in sustainability, and also promote strong advocacy for divestment within UBC and outside UBC.
